Company Director

A Company Director called our agency to find out if we could help him. He told us that goods had gone missing from his warehouse but it had not been broken into. The Lorries had not been tampered with and the stock had all gone through the goods in department. This was happening every two weeks or so He suspected that some of the warehouse workers and the lorry drivers may be stealing goods and splitting the profits.

We put undercover operatives into the warehouse who posed as warehouse workers. The operatives were employed for two weeks at the warehouse and they wore body cams all the time. Our operatives got friendly with the other warehouse workers. During one of the night shifts a lorry came in and the warehouse manager and one of our operatives got to work unloading it. Most of the goods for the warehouse had been unloaded then the warehouse manager got into the lorry with the driver and they drove off. He came back about half an hour later.

The Manager took our operative to one side and told him not to tell anyone what had happened. The operative said that as he was only there for a few weeks it didn’t matter to him what was going on. The Manager offered him either some cash or some of the goods to keep his mouth shut. The operative had all this on film and video.

The lorry driver was the main man in this scam. He would have several warehouses on his route with warehouse men that would help him steal from their warehouses. Once the lorry driver had the goods he would sell them to the other warehouse men who were also stealing for him.

Our client called the police and the lorry driver and warehouse manager were taken to the Police station for questioning. They were both arrested and are on bail waiting to go to court.
